The paraformaldehyde produced by Ercros is 89%-98% pure, allowing high concentrations of formaldehyde to be used in a solid state, with none of the inconveniences involved in handling the aqueous solution.

This increases the capacity of the reactors and diminishes or does away with the need to eliminate water by distillation. This leads to big energy savings, and reduces or eliminates liquid effluent.
